Deepshaken ranks Goblin A and Underling slightly above it; Conthirius puts Goblin in S. Sportskeeda's list has Veilborne and Obelite in S. The disagreement is about how much a -10% speed penalty matters, not about the numbers.

Race FAQ

What is the best race in The Veil?

Veilborne, the only legendary roll: four weave stacks give +30% damage and Nightfall adds +10% universal damage and speed at night. Among common rolls, Goblin and Underling for mages, Gemhead for summoners, Obelite for tanks.

How do I reroll my race?

Talk to the Stylist NPC next to spawn in the Glade and say yes; every reroll spends one Race Reroll. Codes gave 3 to 6 rerolls each, daily rewards add more, and you keep your slot.

Is Rat the same as Wraith?

Yes. The 5% dodge-through race is called Rat by Deepshaken and the wiki sites and Wraith by Conthirius; the stat line is identical.

How do I get the Shrouded race?

It is not a roll. Reach the Shrouded waypoint at the back of Camp Zero in the Pale, go through the flame door, take the task, get 100 kills while wearing a Cowl and a Ragged Cloth, then step into the flame. You die and respawn as Shrouded with -10% damage.

Can a race be changed without a new slot?

Yes, that is exactly what the Stylist is for. You only need a new slot if you want to keep two races at once.
